I found myself skipping a lot of stuff later on just to see what happens next.Ĭlick to shrink. No, it definitely starts in chapter 1, dont be silly.

It's a slow start but everything builds up towards the end. Or the game isn't for you and that's ok too but if you give it more time it gets really good.
YAKUZA 0 STORYWRITING SERIES
It's too bad cause Yakuza 0 made the rest of the series not that great in comparison. So many good moments, funny side quests, and the characters introduced are really well realized (except for a few). I thought it was ok at first (someone similar issues as you but I found the antsgonist to be pretty interesting characters since they first appeared like who are are these guys) then by the time I reached the end of the game, I was so invested with the story and characters that it became one of my favourite games I played all year. Play more and play the substories and don't feel like you have to complete everything cause the game is pretty hefty with the amount of content there is.īut yeah, by the end of the game, it was so good. You'll get to know more of the characters if you let them and since you're still in chapter 1 with really no experience of they are, you're missing out on a lot. The story is pretty good too but it's a slow buildup. The charm of the game is how it blends so many goofy moments with serious ones and it does it so well. If you weren't charmed with the karaoke, idk, you might not like the rest of the game. The combat, while being better than the rest of the series (haven't played 7 or the spinoffs), get annoying so it's better to stick to normal or even easy. It was never an issue in the first couple of games (and especially the perfect Kenzan) where enemies seemed to have just the right amount of health, were agressive enough (could have been improved but hey, still better than from 4 onwards) and even more powerful moves wouldn't be an instant KO for enemies but rather just weaken them enough.ĭon't play it on hard. which is honestly no fun as I enjoy the combat and really just hate how overpowered you always are even if you dont upgrade. I only play on hard and above these days (because anything lower is just no fun) and its so annoying that rather trying to balance this out properly, the team just continue to make things easier and easier across every difficulty. Now for easy/normal mode, they can keep this. So yeah, overpowered moves are abundant in that game depending on the class. 7 made boss fights longer, but Eri has one attack on her own that KOs every enemy in one hit. Judge Eyes dials it back a bit, but still at least very overpowered. see Yakuza 6 only now heat moves do far too much damage as well.
YAKUZA 0 STORYWRITING FULL
well doing anything is overpowered in that game, and that's without leveling the power at all, enemies now wont last a full combo, let alone a death bike attack. starting to get a bit too powerful, 0 - bike = instant win for most fights, other combos basically KO enemies in one full, unblocked combo, 6. In 3 it was argued Kiryu was under powered, 4 he was probably just right, 5. between the AI getting messed with after Kenzan (well, 3 specifically but people complain about the blocking in 3, while I never had a problem with it) so they barely ever do anything in fights, to Kiryu being blatantly overpowered in later games, all the characters in the series from this point bar Shinada and Tanimura have become brokenly overpowered.
